Robert Shapiro, J.D.

Hired in 1981, Robert E. Shapiro is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Taxation.
He was an attorney in Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey and a CPA in Louisiana.
He has authored or co-authored many tax articles in the New York University Institute on Federal Taxation, the International Tax Journal, the Business Law Review, the New York Certified Public Accountant, and Taxes and his research is predominately disciplined-based in nature. He has spoken on tax
matters before various groups including the North Atlantic Regional Business Law Association,
and the Information Resources Management Association International Conference. His
work experience includes being an attorney in the Internal Revenue Service Office
of the Regional Counsel, Manager in Charge of a Tax Department in an international
CPA firm and Senior Tax Counsel with American Express. He has his own private practice
of law.
