Professor Heim began teaching at Seton Hall University in fall 2009. His 14-year newspaper career included stints as an assistant city editor at the Sioux Falls (S.D.) Argus Leader and as a copy editor at the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the Chicago Tribune. Heim's research interests focus on the role of online media in influencing public opinion and journalism practice. He has co-authored a book chapter on journalistic transparency and has presented research papers on the agenda-setting influence of political blogs.
