Hilary May is currently an educator at the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts and has worked in both collections and education at various museums throughout the Northeast for over 10 years. She strongly believes in the power of museums to connect people with history in new and interesting ways and strives to make this a reality in all the programs she teaches.
May began teaching as an adjunct instructor within Seton Hall's Museum Professions program in the fall of 2017.

- "Expanding Horizons: Long Islanders Involved in the East Asian Trade, 1850-1890" Long Island History Journal, 2012.
- Review of "Women in Long Island's Past: A History of Eminent Ladies and Everyday Lives" by Natalie A. Naylor, Long Island History Journal, 2015.
- Awarded Anton Fellowship at Clark University in 2006 in order to research, write, develop, and produce a women's history audio tour for a local museum.
