About the Program

The Seton Hall Master of Science in Physician Assistant (M.S.P.A.) program prepares students to become skilled, compassionate clinicians who deliver high-quality care across diverse healthcare settings.

Since 2001, students in our physician assistant program have benefited from expert faculty, robust clinical training, and a rigorous, rewarding curriculum. We equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in today’s healthcare environment.

Our M.S.P.A. students are trained to:

  • Practice with physicians across all medical specialties
  • Provide evidence-based care to patients of all ages, backgrounds, and health conditions
  • Stay current with medical research and apply the latest clinical trends to improve patient outcomes

Our Mission

The mission of the Physician Assistant Program at Seton Hall University is to prepare primary care PAs who practice in diverse settings. The program provides the foundation for graduates to become critical thinkers who practice evidence-based, patient-centered medicine.

Our Values

The Master of Science in Physician Assistant program provides the foundation for graduates to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners who excel in servant leadership, research and the practice of medicine. We believe in the importance of varied and diverse clinical experiences for our students, from taking patient histories to intensive core clinical experiences.

Our Advantage

Seton Hall’s location in the New York City metropolitan area gives students access to one of the most diverse healthcare markets in the country. Through our strong clinical placement support, students complete rotations in a wide variety of healthcare settings and work with patients across the full continuum of care.

Our 33-month physician assistant program provides extensive hands-on experience. With more than a year of clinical training, graduates are well prepared and often exceed the clinical exposure of peers from other institutions.

Proven Outcomes

Our graduates consistently perform well on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE), regularly surpassing the national passrate. Most take the exam within two weeks of graduation — sharp, focused, and well prepared.

The physician assistant profession continues to grow rapidly. For the past decade, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected nearly 30% growth in the field — well above the national average for all occupations.
