The Complicated Journey of Nostra Aetate

The event is free and open to the public and will feature John Borelli, Ph.D., who will present the keynote address, "The Complicated Journey of Nostra Aetate," the Declaration of the Church's Relation to Non-Christian Religions.
Dr. Borelli has been Special Assistant for Interreligious Initiatives for the President of Georgetown University since 2004 and served as Associate Director of the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs for more than 16 years, focusing on ecumenical dialogue with Orthodox Christians and with Anglicans and interreligious dialogue and relations with Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and interfaith groups. He and Archbishop Michael L. Fitzgerald co-authored Interfaith Dialogue: A Catholic View. He also edited A Common Word and the Future of Christian-Muslim Relations and other books, along with more than 200 articles. With Father Thomas Stransky, C.S.P., a collaborator with Augustin Cardinal Bea from 1960-68, Dr. Borelli has been working on the history of the Second Vatican Council's Declaration on the Church's Relation to Non-Christian Religions (Nostra Aetate).
