Seton Hall’s Day of Caring: A Call for Support and Unity During Uncertain Times
Thursday, April 16, 2020
These past few weeks have been a time of great challenge and of great change. Even in these difficult times, Seton Hall has seen an immense and powerful outpouring of love, unadulterated faith, and support in true Pirate fashion that has inspired the transition from the University's traditional Giving Day to a special Day of Caring set to take place from April 21-22, 2020.
Seton Hall's Giving Day, the University's biggest day of giving during the calendar year typically invites alumni, parents, students, the Priest community, friends, administrators, and staff to support the University area of their choosing. However, these unprecedented times have called for Setonians around the world to join together to care for one another, hopeful that better days are ahead. With the University's top priority being to care for its students, Seton Hall's Day of Caring will be a 36-hour online campaign to directly support students who are experiencing hardships due to the impacts of the virus and will focus on lifting them and one another up.
Students of the University, who are most affected, have had to endure leaving campus on short notice without some of their belongings, finding accommodations for housing assistance, quickly adapting to remote learning, leaving jobs and consistent income, and so much more. During this time, they are looking toward sources of stability.
Seton Hall's greatest strength is its community, which includes its thriving alumni network of over 100,000 proud Pirates. Near or far, Seton Hall remains one family, one University, and will continue striving to move forward together on behalf of its great students. Contributions, no matter the amount, will help current students in need and serve as a reminder that they always have a strong community to lean on.
Please join Seton Hall University, Seton Hall Law School and Pirate Blue in this collaborative effort of caring for our students and our University.
