DOVE Launches Summer Service Program for Seton Hall University Employees

DOVE student volunteers serving at St. John's breakfast shift.
This summer, the Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) invites all Seton Hall faculty and staff to take part in a new service program supporting St. John’s Soup Kitchen, a community partner of more than 20 years.
Held Thursdays from May 28 through July 30, 2026, participants will serve from 7:30–9:30 a.m., assisting with preparing and distributing breakfast to individuals experiencing food and shelter insecurity. DOVE transportation will be provided, departing campus at 7 a.m. and return by 10 a.m. Traveling together not only offers convenience to participants, but lends more opportunity for community and group reflection after the event.
This initiative ensures continued summer support for St. John’s while student volunteers
are away and offers faculty and staff a meaningful way to live out Seton Hall’s Catholic
mission. Employees can use their accrued volunteer hours, allowing them to end their
workday up to three hours early — making participation both impactful and practical.
For faculty, especially those teaching service-learning courses, this is also an opportunity
to bring firsthand experience into the classroom and deepen student learning.
A sign-up link will be shared soon. Employees are encouraged to register for one or two dates, as their available volunteer hours allow.
Join colleagues in serving, connecting and making a meaningful impact this summer.
