"The training and opportunities offered in the Buccino Leadership Program are priceless and have me excited about the future and prepared to make a positive impact."
Ava Geissel is a third generation Pirate and excited to be part of the Seton Hall Family. The Pirate Pride was evident in her household, and she looks forward to creating her own story at Seton Hall.
Ava has a strong work ethic both in and out of school. When not at Seton Hall, Ava works at Dicks Sporting Goods in their Golf Department and caddies at Metedeconk National. Both positions have given her a great deal of insight on working with people. The challenges associated with being the only female caddy was not easy to overcome, but her confidence and abilities would typically break through to change others' perception of her.
At Seton Hall, Ava was competitively selected into the Buccino Leadership Program. She is also involved with Stillman Mentors, SHU Women in Business and PirateThon. She enjoys helping others and giving back to the community. She has been a Team Leader for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for seven years and served on her local committee for four years.
Being a member of the Class of 2024 has had a unique set of challenges and disappointments, but Ava believes it has only strengthened her resilience and confirmed her choice to be at Seton Hall. The additional engagement from the Buccino Leadership Program, including the invaluable connection to mentors, have provided a close community, and helped develop her leadership skills. Ava is looking forward to optimizing the benefits of the program and utilizing her skills to become a valuable member of the SHU community and pursuing her goals.
