Rea Ann Silva, Beautyblender CEO
On Wednesday, April 14, the Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute will welcome the CEO of Beautyblender, Rea Ann Silva, as its Distinguished Speaker Series guest for Spring 2021. The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. E.S.T. via Microsoft Teams. Beautyblender in collaboration with JAULI will be choosing 2 Seton Hall Students to win $100 worth of Beautyblender products! See below for details about the giveaway and click here to register for the event.
Over the past several months, the Latino Institute and the Beautyblender team have been working on this project to make it happen. As the creative force behind Beautyblender, Rea Ann single-handedly changed the beauty game. The Beautyblender concept came to Rea while she was the Department Head of one of the first TV shows shot in hi-definition. Silva handled the constant touch-ups with her hand-cut, edgeless sponges to mimic the seamless look of airbrushing. Beautyblender quickly became the secret on set that had every pro talking. Today, the category-creator holds countless beauty awards and is beloved by both makeup aficionados and newbies as the go-to tool for achieving a perfectly blended complexion. As Beautyblender expands, the Latino Institute is looking forward to host Rea Ann, a trailblazing Latina entrepreneur in the beauty industry.
"Beautyblender is a leader in the beauty industry and Rea Ann Silva's leadership and vision is celebrated. As a Latina CEO, our students are excited to hear about her start, entrepreneurial journey, and how she's made her vision into a successful business. It is important for our students to feel included and represented in the individuals who we invite to the University," says Ana Campoverde, Executive Director of the Latino Institute.
Today, Beautyblender continues to be a leader in providing broad range for all skin colors, a commitment that we greatly admire and appreciate. Rea Ann's story, background and perseverance underscore the lessons and conversations hosted by the Institute and highlighted in the University's mission of servant leadership. The Distinguished Speaker Series aims to explore the rise of Latino entrepreneurs and the importance of building diversity and sustainability.
