Transformative Internship Experiences

Welcome to Our Higher Education Internship Program

Our Higher Education Graduate Programs’ internships (ELMP 8981/8982) offer unparalleled opportunities for our M.A.E. and Ed.S. students to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world practice. These transformative experiences allow students to explore their passions, gain invaluable skills and build meaningful professional networks.

 What Students Are Saying

The internships have made an impact on our students’ careers and personal development. Here are some of the things they had to say:

  • “Helped me acquire hands-on skills not typically gained in a classroom setting.”
  • “Allowed me to take my knowledge to another level. I was able to build professional networks, create innovative material, and grow immensely in my understanding of interpersonal skills.”
  • “I managed projects, worked closely with students, and met talented professionals, leaving the internship with a network, skills, and confidence to thrive in my future career.”
  • “My internship allowed me to grow both personally and professionally, thanks to incredible mentorship and new professional opportunities.”

 Internship Features

  • Real-World Experience: Internships provide exposure to real-world challenges and opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in professional settings.
  • Skill Development: Students gain practical skills like project management, advising, and event planning, which are essential for higher education careers.
  • Professional Networking: Build lasting relationships with professionals in the field and grow your career network.
  • Mentorship: Work with dedicated supervisors who guide you through challenges, support your growth, and help you achieve your goals.

Our internship program provides a seamless transition from the classroom to the workforce. Many students secure full-time roles in higher education immediately after completing their internships, thanks to the hands-on experience and networking opportunities.

Several students have used their internship experiences to transition into advanced programs. One notable example includes a student who completed the internship as part of a master’s requirement and went on to join the Ph.D. program in Higher Education, with their on-site supervisor serving as a key mentor on their dissertation committee.
