M.S. in Athletic Training Alum Acts Swiftly to Aid Student

Allison Pritchard, M.S. ’21, put her advanced training to work to revive a student.
At Darrow School in New Lebanon, N.Y., a routine basketball scrimmage turned critical when a player went into cardiac arrest. Seton Hall alumna Allison Pritchard, M.S. ’21, acted without hesitation. The school’s athletic trainer of four years immediately began CPR, sustaining the student until emergency responders arrived.
“This is exactly the kind of preparedness we emphasize in our program,” said Vicci Hill-Lombardi, Ed.D., ATC, department chair of Seton Hall’s M.S. in Athletic Training (M.S.A.T.) program. “Our graduates are equipped to respond competently and confidently in high-pressure situations, whether on the field, in a clinic or in the community.”
