The School of Health and Medical Sciences (SHMS) releases the 15th issue of Ins!ghts magazine featuring SHMS alumni working to combat the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Each year, the magazine highlights the efforts and accomplishments of the students, faculty and alumni of the School of Health and Medical Sciences at Seton Hall University. Highlights:
Mission Critical – Physician assistants and SHMS sweethearts, Sandra and Clint Kaminski provide COVID-19
testing, treatment, and vaccines to local veterans at the VA New Jersey Health Care
System (VANJHCS), East Orange Campus.
The COVID Ethics Series – SHMS bioethicist and associate professor, Dr. Bryan Pilkington, leads the University community through a discussion series on COVID-19-related ethical issues.
Inspired to Give – SHMS' largest endowed fellowship fund to date is established thanks to Seton Hall alumna Rita Salva and her husband Lawrence J. Salva.
Guiding the 'Big Apple' Through a Pandemic – PhD in Health Sciences alumnus, Daniel J. Messina, PhD, works on the New York City mayor's Public Health and Healthcare Sector Advisory Council while leading a hospital through the pandemic.
Frontline Heroes – Healthcare administrators, athletic trainers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists all play a role in taking care of the sick and restoring our nation's health. SHMS alumni detail their fight against the coronavirus on the frontlines.
