Student Services Director recognized by NASPA African American Knowledge Community as Stellar 50 Recipient  

On March 19, Ghana Imani Hylton, Director of Business Affairs and Scheduling and Operations was recognized by the NASPA African American Knowledge Community as a Stellar 50 recipient.

NASPA is a national professional organization for Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. The Stellar 50 recipients nominated are student affairs professional with at least five years of experience, making an impact in their professional and philanthropic endeavors. In addition, Stellar 50 recipients uphold the strategic initiatives of the NASPA African American Knowledge Community (AAKC) which include professional development and engagement, equity, inclusion, and social justice, and research and scholarship.
 
Ms Hylton has been a member of the Seton Hall family for six years, after twenty years of experience in Human Resources for various companies, including the United Way of New York City. In Ms. Hylton's current role, she oversees the event spaces of Bethany Hall and University Center and is an active member of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee and Co-Chair of the Student Services Communications Sub-Committee.

Ms. Hylton actively serves as a volunteer to several organizations, including City Kids, Bridge Street Women’s Empowerment Conference, #SayHerName Creative Writing & Poetry for Youth, and the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence. She was a panelist at the Seton Hall Black History Month Event ABC Panel Explores Colorism, Gender and Sexuality and assists with resources for the Seton Hall Black Student Union.
 
Ms. Hylton will receive her award during the NASPA AAKC Business meeting and awards presentation conducted virtually Thursday, March 24, 2022. Ms. Hylton shared, "I am thrilled that Seton Hall has given us all a platform and a charge with our Strategic Goal 4 to further immerse our campus in diversity, equity and inclusion. It is a true testament to our overall mission that we have made this a priority. I couldn't be prouder than to represent Seton Hall University as I accept this NASPA honor. My colleagues and I are excited to grow this diversity work to the full benefit of our campus, our community and world."
