Catholic Health Systems Nonprofit Director Discusses Connection Between Faith and Healthcare Catholic Studies, along with Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology and the Department of Religion presents "Faith & Healthcare," a lecture and discussion led by Ms. Sarah Reddin, Senior Director of Ministry Formation-Mission Integration for Ascension Health, one of the leading nonprofit and Catholic health systems in the U.S.

About the Event 
Today's professionals serving in Catholic healthcare systems across the country have varied roles and come from a wide variety of educational backgrounds. Healthcare professionals include those who bring expertise in theology, religion, and Catholic studies. Ms. Reddin will discuss the specifics of her role in ministry formation and mission integration, as well as similar career positions that focus on creating an organization that is committed to the Catholic mission. "This event is an exciting opportunity for students in degree programs across the University — both graduate and undergraduate," said Dr. Ines Murzaku, Director of Catholic Studies. "We are increasingly seeing students in healthcare majors taking a strong interest in Catholic Studies, the School of Theology, and Religious Studies, and rightly so — treating patients in a healthcare setting requires a strong sense of ethics, as well as true understanding and appreciation of the dignity and worth of each human being." About the Speaker
With over 17 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Sarah Reddin currently leads ministry, formation, development, spirituality, culture, engagement, personal, and organizational transformation efforts within Ascension Health. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts in Health Care Mission Leadership from Loyola University-Chicago. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Health Care Mission Leadership.
