Faith in Ukraine: A Witness to War

The Department of Catholic Studies at Seton Hall University is pleased to announce
a special in-person conference "Faith in Ukraine: A Witness to War". The symposium will take place on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. in Bethany Hall.
At this one-day conference, leaders of the Ukrainian faithful of different religions
will give witness about the experience and travails of the current terrible Ukraine-Russia
conflict.
Representing the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and Patriarch Sviatovslav will be
Borys Gudziak, Archbishop-Metropolitan of Philadelphia for Ukrainian Catholics in
the United States; Head, Department of External Church Relations, Ukrainian Greek
Catholic Church; and President, Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv.
Representing the Jewish faithful of Ukraine is Rabbi Yaakov Dov Bleich, Chief Rabbi
of Kiev and Ukraine. He is one of the founding members of the Ukrainian Council of
Churches and Religions.
Representing the Orthodox Church of Ukraine is Metropolitan Epiphanius I of Kiev and
all Ukraine. He was instrumental in obtaining the Tomos of Ukrainian Orthodox Autocephaly
in 2018.
During this time of war between Ukraine and Russia, this event is our active prayer
for peace.
