Online Executive Master of Science (M.S.)

International Affairs

Seton Hall's Online Executive Master of Science in International Affairs program is designed for professionals who seek to develop additional skills or credentials to move ahead in their careers, but cannot attend a traditional Executive Master of Science campus program in order to do so. Through a series of ten courses, students will build upon their knowledge and skills in policy analysis, negotiation and conflict management and professional writing, while developing a functional and/or regional specialty.

Online Diplomacy students benefit from access to the University Library's vast collection of online publications, including news sources such as the Financial Times, Economist, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and international newspapers. The Library also provides access to Foreign Policy and World Politics Review, among a suite of databases, Top 50 Diplomacy Journals, e-book titles and reference resources. In addition, the Seton Hall Library is recognized as an official UN depository library, which offers students access to a wide range of United Nations documents and reports.

This coursework is a tool for:

  • Peace Corps members and Returned Peace Corps Volunteers
  • Members of the U.S. military
  • Diplomats assigned to Permanent Missions to the United Nations
  • Representatives from nongovernmental organizations accredited to the United Nations

For one week each summer, students engaged in the study of international relations get to see what it's like work at the United Nations, the challenges, successes and ways of contributing.

"Studying online with Seton Hall University is as challenging as it is rewarding. The professors are experts in their field. The coursework is rigorous, and the asynchronous environment - which promotes student interaction and debate - is top notch. I would highly recommend the School of Diplomacy's online master's program."

Phyllis Mihalas, Ph.D.

The Online Executive M.S. curriculum can be completed in a single year full-time, including summer sessions, or through part-time study, and is customizable to meet each individual’s current interests and needs. The ten course program begins with a four course core sequence. Through a series of six electives, Online M.S. students can pursue functional as well as regional specializations, or explore a variety of topics relevant to their career goals.

Not sure if an online program is right for you? Learn more about our traditional Executive M.S. program, which can be completed entirely on campus, or in a hybrid format with a combination of campus and online classes.
