Rosemary Kern is the wife of Deacon Stephen Kern, the Director of the Office of the
Diaconate for the Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey and is a member of the Advisory
Planning Committee of the Center for Diaconal Formation for outreach and support for
wives of deacons and deacon candidates. Rosemary and Deacon Stephen have been married
for 39 years and are parishioners of Saint Magdalen de Pazzi Church in Flemington.
They have been involved in marriage and family ministries for 36 years and are currently
active in Catholic Engaged Encounter, God’s Plan for Marriage, Natural Family Planning
Instruction, and parish-based Marriage Ministry. Rosemary works at Saint Peter’s University
Hospital in New Brunswick as the Manager of Project Respect Ed, which is a federally
funded grant program providing health education and positive youth development programming
for middle school students in disadvantaged areas in central New Jersey. Rosemary
and Deacon Stephen are the parents of two daughters, Stephanie and Kristen, and one
son, Kevin, and became grandparents of a beautiful granddaughter, Eden, in October
of 2016.
