Canvas Bootcamp Success Leads to New Training Opportunities

faculty members participating in an in-person workshop with computersThis week, the Teaching, Learning and Technology Center's instructional design team hosted two intensive Canvas bootcamps, aimed at equipping instructors with the necessary tools and techniques for a seamless transition to Canvas. As a result of the impressive turnout, with over 80 faculty participants, the TLTC has added new in-person and remote training opportunities for instructors in the coming weeks. 


Canvas Bootcamps

One-day, immersive bootcamps provide instructors with everything they need to get started in Canvas. Throughout the day, engage in hands-on sessions that cover a range of topics, including organizing and creating content and assignments, tests, grading, group work, and more. The remaining sessions will be held in the Walsh Library Beck Rooms from 9 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. on:


Remote Canvas Workshops

In addition to the Canvas bootcamps, the instructional design team has developed a series of one-hour, remote workshops that take a deeper dive into individual Canvas features, such as communication, grading, assignment, and collaboration tools. Upcoming workshops include:

Canvas Open Labs

Facilitated by an Instructional Designer, Open Labs give instructors the opportunity to ask specific questions about Canvas features and functions. Whether you are seeking assistance with setting up assignments, discussions and modules or need help troubleshooting an issue, these in-person Open Labs provide personalized support to ensure a successful transition to Canvas.
