These FIGs were designed to enhance digital literacy and foster innovation by incorporating one or more Adobe Creative tools in a class assignment, activity or project. The Faculty Innovation Grant Showcase Series will demonstrate effective methods of integrating the Adobe Creative Suite into the curriculum and assessing its impact on student outcomes.

September Showcase

The first showcase of the series, held Wednesday, September 20 from 12-1 p.m. via Teams, will spotlight three FIG recipients.

Madison Krall, Ph.D.

Project: Adobe Premiere Rush Oral History Project

Working in pairs, students developed questions and interviewed a person who has worked at Seton Hall for at least ten years. Using Adobe Premiere Rush, students turned their interview into a professionally designed 15 to 20-minute oral history video with animated titles, customized graphics, and audio. Additionally, students wrote a one-page reflective essay to accompany the video about their views on the project, what they learned from their narrator, and how it shaped their personal time at the Hall. Students' reflections and final oral history projects will be donated to the Walsh Library Archives.

Erik Hill, Ph.D.

Project: Student Visual Recordings of Biology Lab Procedures

This project incorporated the use of Adobe Premiere Rush, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. Using these tools, students wrote their own voiceover script and recorded different versions of how they performed a laboratory experiment. Each five-minute video was designed to help future students visualize the do's and don'ts of how to perform in-class experiments. The completed project files were provided as an exported video as well as digitally built files on OneDrive.

Jacob Weger, Ph.D.

Project: Intro to Environmental Studies Digital Story Assignment

Using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Express, students were tasked with creating a complete and engaging digital story within a two to three minute time frame. Students' stories tied to the environmental themes discussed in class, such as a personal environmental ideology, a place that had a profound influence on their environmental perspective, an example of how a particular environmental issue impacted their life, etc. The project required students to create digital media (i.e., photos, video, voice, etc.), with some allowances for incorporating media created by others.
