Degree Works Available to Faculty and Advisors
Friday, September 29, 2023
The Office of the Registrar is pleased to announce that Degree Works will be available
to faculty, staff, and administrators who hold advisor status starting on Monday,
October 2. Degree Works is a web-based tool that provides students and their advisors
with a clear and concise view of their academic progress toward degree completion.
Seton Hall University is committed to providing faculty and advisors with the tools they need to help students track their degree progress, evaluate different academic pathways, and make informed decisions about their coursework and future career goals. As such, the platform will be available to faculty and advisors located on the South Orange and IHS campuses in preparation for Winter 2024 and Spring 2024 registration. Students on these campuses will be granted access on Monday, October 23.
All advisors are encouraged to begin exploring Degree Works to familiarize themselves with the navigation and tools that can streamline the academic advising process. To access Degree Works, log into PirateNet and click on the Degree Works chiclet.
Features
Degree Works analyzes each student's academic history and current course schedule, providing a clear overview of which degree requirements they have fulfilled and which ones they still need to complete. Beyond degree auditing, Degree Works offers advanced search capabilities for easy student selection based on major, minor, concentration, and class year. It also provides a snapshot view of a student's probation status, registration holds, and FERPA waivers. Additionally, it allows for the simulation of various degree scenarios with completed and planned courses. These powerful features not only reduce administrative workloads but also enable advisors to identify and address potential roadblocks or issues, ultimately modernizing Seton Hall's academic infrastructure and enhancing the overall student experience.
Members of the Faculty, Center for Academic Success, and the Registrar will be holding three training sessions to discuss best practices for using the platform’s powerful tools and features, and will be available to answer your questions. Click on the dates below to register:
If you are unable to attend one of the scheduled trainings or would like to request a department or program-specific training, please contact Marianne Lloyd. |
