The First 56 Days: We’ve Got an Activity for That
Monday, August 19th, 2019
A warm welcome to the Class of 2023 and welcome back to returning students. Seton Hall has been busy preparing for your arrival with over 168 events and activities that we're sure will end your summer on a high note and get your fall semester started right! We guarantee there's something for everyone over the next two months that can entertain, enlighten and engage you with everything that makes Seton Hall University a place to share experiences that will last a lifetime.
Let the First 56 Days Calendar be your guide to happenings you won't want to miss, including shows, workshops, athletic events and so much more.
Indie rock band, PUBLIC.
Just some of the Welcome Week activities include contests, the annual Blue Day carnival with rides, games and food trucks, and lot's of BBQ and pizza throughout the week. The very first night starts with an after-hours take-over of the East Hanover Target Store where you have free reign to scour the aisles for anything you might need or want but didn't pack. A fleet of buses makes sure that everyone gets a ride and there's plenty of room for all your Pirate treasures.
Pip Comic Illusionist
Other first-week highlights include high-energy indie rock band PUBLIC playing a free summer night concert under the stars on the University Green and Pip Comic Illusionist in the Main Lounge. He's a magician, comedian, illusionist, actor and hypnotist. (But can he make a mixtape? Because on September 4, we'll show you how to build one.) This man of many talents has been seen on tv and on tour from Las Vegas to Sydney, Australia combining comedy with illusion and hypnotism that will stop your heart but never your laughter.
We've got you covered for Labor Day Weekend, starting with a free showing of "Avengers-End Game" at 8 p.m. on the University Green complete with popcorn on us, more BBQ (can you ever get enough?) and a trip to Point Pleasant Beach on Sunday, September 1.

Also be sure to take advantage of interactive workshops on everything from adapting to college, how to deal with being homesick and cultivating an inclusive environment for all, to tips on doing laundry so those whites stay that way.
The Involvement Fair on August 29 will introduce you to student clubs and organizations throughout the University that are opportunities for personal and professional growth in addition to being a great way to learn about our mission of servant leadership.
The best way to make Seton Hall your second home is to join us every day for the next 56 days! Follow the Student Activities Board on Twitter @SHU_SAB and Instagram for updates and rain locations.
