Survivors: A Panel On The Holocaust
Monday, April 19, 2021
In recognition of Yom HaShoah, the German club and SHU Hillel will bring in Adela Dubovy to speak about her experiences involving the Holocaust on Monday, April 26th from 6-8 p.m.
The students responsible for organizing this event are Hillel executive board members, Samantha Bernstein, Leah Dubovy, and Noah Dubovy & German club executive board members, Laura Rogers, Kiara Webster, Annabel Edle Von Schickh, and Tim Dziekan. With the passing of Yom HaShoah on April 7th, the Hillel and German Club thought it would be great to have a Holocaust survivor to speak about their experiences.
The event will be focused on the special guest, Adela Dubovy, and her Holocaust story. Adela is Noah and Leah’s grandmother, and has agreed to speak about her experience before, during, and after the war.
She was born in Czechoslovakia and escaped the camps by hiding in the mountains and being liberated by armed forces. After the war she moved to America where she started a family. She now lives in Rockaway, N.J. and has 2 kids, 6 grandkids, and 2 great-grandkids. She has spoken about her story several times and was a frequent speaker with the JCC.
Come listen to Adela and her unique story, followed by a Q&A. The event will be hosted virtually and is open to the Seton Hall Community and the general public. Click here to join the event. Reach out and email [email protected] or [email protected] with any questions.
