ROI-NJ Names President Joseph E. Nyre as State Higher Education Influencer, University Business and Law School Leaders Also Recognized
Friday, August 27, 2021
In making the announcement, ROI-NJ staff shared: "When the pandemic hit in the spring of 2020 and showed no signs of letting up, two things became clear when it came to higher education: Learning must continue — and the way students learned would be far different than ever before."
As academic institutions had to develop new policies, procedures and programs in a matter of days and weeks, the publication wanted to present to the community and the state the contributions of exemplary higher education leaders.
President Nyre was one of seven academic leaders highlighted in the College Presidents: Head of the Class section. In making the selection, Seton Hall and the President received praise for innovative programs, major campus renovations being undertaken and its response to the pandemic. "The school has been incredibly forward-thinking under Nyre's leadership — including a COVID-contention plan that became a model for many."
Shortly after his arrival, Dr. Nyre was also ranked on the ROI-NJ Higher Education Influencers Power List for 2020.
Lauded as a Business Influencer in Higher Education, Joyce Strawser, Dean, Stillman School of Business was lauded as a Business Influencer as praised for the fintech program and recently launched Center for Securities Trading and Business Analytics.
Kathleen Boozang, Dean, Seton Hall Law, was lauded as a "veteran presence to one of the state's top law schools" and for her role as the founder of the Law School's top-ranked Center for Health & Pharmaceutical Law.
