Juneteenth Message from President Nyre
Friday, June 18, 2021
Seton Hall joins communities throughout the nation in celebrating Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.
Juneteenth has been recognized by New Jersey since 2004, and was confirmed as an official state holiday last September. While our community pauses for a long weekend, I hope you will take a moment to learn more about the meaning and significance of this important date. The University is sharing more information about the holiday throughout its social media channels.
As we continue the important work of fostering equality at Seton Hall and beyond, Juneteenth provides a moment to reflect on historic achievements, celebrate recent victories, and find fresh inspiration to create a more equitable future.
