"Leadership does not simply encompass a single action, rather it is a lifestyle. If I can inspire one person to do the right thing when they least want to, I will consider myself successful."
Patricia Esposito has been a prominent influence in society through her service to the community and dedication to her own organization, Do the Right Thing. As president and founder of Do the Right Thing, she hopes to inspire discouraged teenagers to "spread acts of kindness throughout the school, community, and their own personal lives." She has also participated in many community service outreach programs, including Operation Recovering Hero and Toys for Tots. She was the USA National Miss New Jersey Teen in 2017, was accepted into the National and Spanish honor societies, and was the President of Sayreville DECA. Patricia also acted as a Peer Leader for the freshman class, offering them guidance and wisdom as they began their high school journey. In her spare time, Patricia enjoys kickboxing, reading, and walking her Yorkshire Terrier, Spencer.
Patricia chose Seton hall for its sense of community and inclusion. The nursing program was a major selling point for her, but the leadership program was equally, if not more, compelling. "The leadership program offered here was one of the main reasons I chose Seton Hall," she said. "I was humbled to have been accepted into this program, as I believe it will not only prepare me for my nursing career but also help me develop into the person I am meant to be." Patricia also believes that being able to gain leadership experience through this program will open great doors for her once she becomes a nurse.
Patricia has entered this leadership program to shape multiple aspects of herself. She anticipates that her involvement will allow her to improve both professionally and personally. "My truest hope is that the leadership program will allow me to grow as a person, scholar, and a future nurse," she claims. She will use the characteristics and qualities taught by this program as she continues through her life, whether it be in her free time, the classroom, or her career. She hopes to carry these assets with her and use them in as many ways possible.
Patricia's ultimate goal is to become a pediatric nurse. "I feel that it is my calling to become a nurse, specifically one who works with children," she explains. She loves kids and can sense the vulnerability presented by ones that are sick. She understands how scary the element of the unknown can be, and desires to be both medical and emotional help during these scary times.
