Information Technology Management, Marketing, Sport Management majors;
Marlboro, New Jersey
"Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others. That is what I am striving to do."
Gabrielle Ciancio accomplished a lot in high school. She was involved in three different charities, had high honors in her classes, played softball, volunteered to coach a local softball team, and gave private and group lessons for the sport. Now take all of that and add not only three majors and a minor, but also the intense business branch of the Buccino Leadership Institute cohort.
Despite the short distance between Seton Hall and her home, it is still difficult for Gabrielle to be away from her family. "I'm a huge family person, everything I do is for them. Not being able to physically be with them and support them is hard for me." She keeps her head up and does not let anything stop her from her goals.
Seton Hall became the obvious choice for Gabrielle when she realized all that the university had to offer. "Seton Hall gave me the sense of being a part of something bigger than myself, as well as the opportunity to prepare myself for my career in business at the early stages of my life," Gabrielle said. She originally made the decision to attend Seton Hall for the softball team, but excitedly applied for the Business Leadership Program as soon as she found out about it. "The leadership program opens up so many opportunities that I would not have as a regular college student." She is looking forward to the amount of job preparation she will receive through the program.
It may seem like a lot, but the three different majors and minor are all connected and beneficial to Gabrielle's future career. The marketing, sports management, and information technology majors all lead the path for a career in "advertising for an MLB team." As for the minor in writing, she has "hopes of reporting for the New York Yankees." It is no question that baseball hits home with Gabrielle. She also strives to one day become a coach for a college softball team. Gabrielle is taking every step possible to help her achieve all of her goals, no matter how big or small.
