"Seton Hall was the very first school I visited and after exploring nearly twenty other universities, my acceptance into the Buccino Leadership Program persuaded me to make one of the most fulfilling decisions of my life by returning to the campus I now call home."
Anthony Surdo attended one of the smallest public high schools in New Jersey where he saw himself as a "big fish in a little pond". Anthony chose to continue his academic endeavors in the business cohort at Seton Hall University to challenge himself to stand out in a majority.
Anthony entered Seton Hall originally with the intention of majoring in accounting and has since decided to shift his career path to one that aligns better with his values and skillsets. Determined to consistently complete tasks as efficiently and effectively as possible, he demonstrates resilience when faced with demanding challenges. Being from such a small hometown, Anthony was acclimated to working independently; however, collaborating with like-minded peers along with diversified groups of students at college has since allowed him to become more open-minded. Anthony feels this transition from one home to another has enabled him to grow fundamentally as a person and servant leader.
Anthony strives to experience as much campus interaction as he possibly can through club sports, business leadership, academics, business clubs, volunteer efforts, and his fraternity. "Having families in each of these sectors is imperative to developing the soft skills one needs to actively participate in workplaces that place a heavy emphasis on company culture." A characteristic that he prides himself on, Anthony's goal is to inspire those around him to be the best possible versions of themselves. Demonstrating this idea through his own accomplishments, he is eager for others to determine the actionable steps for individuals to take to pursue their unique vision of success.
