How the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations Supports Faculty Members

  • Manages relationships with corporate and foundation donors and prospects on behalf of the University.
  • Disseminates RFPs based on interest area.
  • Researches prospective funders and develops funding strategies for priority programs and research.
  • Works with faculty to develop their proposal ideas (define their project aims, goals, outcomes/products, communication plans, etc.).
  • Convenes faculty groups to promote cross-disciplinary and collaborative research.

How the Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations Supports Faculty Members

  • Drafts, edits, proofreads, and formats concept papers, letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports.
  • Ensures that submissions adhere to grant-maker guidelines.
  • Ensures that submissions adhere to SHU policies.
  • Proposal submissions: online and hard copy.
  • Gift/grant agreement negotiation.
  • Gift processing, IRS tax receipting, and acknowledgement.
  • Grant stewardship: interim/progress and final reporting (narrative and financial), communicating regarding challenges and delays, no-cost extensions, budget modifications, publicity.
  • Facilitates site visits and manages logistics.
  • Works closely with OGRS, Finance, and Legal to meet donor/funder requirements.
