The Pirate Family Comes Home for Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend 2026
Friday, October 9, 2026
More than 2,100 alumni, parents, families, students, faculty, staff and friends came
together for Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend, October 2-4, to experience Seton
Hall through the eyes of the students who call it home today. Over the three days,
Pirates returned to South Orange to celebrate familiar traditions, see what was new
on campus and spend time with the people who make Seton Hall home.
Students were at the heart of the weekend. They welcomed guests into their campus routines through Day-in-the-Life tours, shared their interests at student organization tables on the Green and brought audiences together through performances and athletics. Parents and alumni were even able to step into classrooms to learn from faculty during Class Samplers, discovering more about the subjects and conversations shaping a Seton Hall education today.
“Seeing students share their Seton Hall experience with their families is what makes
this weekend so meaningful,” said Anthony Bellucci, M.B.A. ’18, associate vice president
of Alumni Engagement and Philanthropy. “For parents and families, it’s an opportunity
to become part of the community their students call home, while alumni return to reconnect
with the University and see how it continues to grow. It’s a celebration of the sense
of belonging that connects all of us to The Hall.”
The enthusiasm could be seen across campus, with packed crowds at theater performances, the swimming and diving meet and the Men’s and Women’s Basketball All-Star Showcase. Both Oktoberfest and the Jazz Brunch brought Pirates together to reconnect and enjoy time with family and friends. On the Green, “Hubby,” the Innovation Hub’s robot, gave guests a look at the advancements being made on campus while DOVE’s collection to address food insecurity reflected Seton Hall’s commitment to faith and service. From the busy Green to the Chapel, guests experienced the student life, academics, athletics, faith and service that make up life at Seton Hall.
For Jacob Habib ’99, the weekend brought his own Seton Hall memories together with the experiences his son is now creating. Returning as both an alumnus and the parent of a current student gave him a new connection to campus: The University he remembers is now a place he gets to know through his son’s journey.
“Coming back on campus was very nostalgic. Seeing how the campus has changed — I couldn’t be prouder of my son being here, following in my footsteps,” said Habib. “I’m glad he made this choice on his own.”
Alumni brought their memories, families brought their curiosity and students shared
the Seton Hall they know today. Together, they experienced a campus that continues
to grow and evolve while remaining a place where generations of Pirates feel at home.
Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend returns September 24-26, 2027.
