About
The poll, known as the Seton Hall Sports Poll Conducted by The Sharkey Institute, debuted in February 2006 with a poll on that year's Olympic Games.
It is the first and only university-based, ongoing student ran sports polling service exclusively devoted to the multi-billion dollar sports industry, and its findings serve as a barometer of public opinion on the many important issues confronting sport today.
The poll is run by Charles Grantham, Professor of Sport Management and former Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association. Professor Daniel Ladik is the Methodologist for the Seton Hall Sports Poll and Associate Professor Marketing in the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University. Len DeLuca is the associate director of the poll. Seton Hall Sports Poll has achieved national exposure including ESPN, Bloomberg, the Associated Press, CNBC, PBS, and a plethora of newspapers, radio stations, business journals, and social media outlets have all featured poll results.
The mission of the Poll is to explore a broader overview of sports issues of general interest to society including the Ethics of Sport, the Culture of Sport and the Business of Sport. Gambling, Sports and Politics, sports movies, labor disputes, ethical behavior, legislative issues, and equality for women's sports are all examples of important questions emanating from the sport universe, that have been and will continue to be explored by the Seton Hall Sports Poll.
Corporations, leagues and special interest groups have and will continue to be invited to commission the polling service for their own research needs.
