Pell-eligible, first-generation, incoming freshmen attending a Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of Newark.

Application Procedures

No application required, automatically awarded to one eligible student annually in the late spring as long as the application for admission is submitted by the January 15 deadline.

The Joseph W. Cardinal Tobin Scholarship is a competitive scholarship awarded annually to one admitted incoming freshman who is a Pell-eligible, first-generation student who attended a Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of Newark.

This award was created to commemorate the Imposition of the Pallium of His Eminence Joseph William Cardinal Tobin, C.Ss.R., the Archbishop of Newark.

There is no application required for this scholarship; the scholarship is automatically awarded to an eligible student each year in the late spring. The recipient will be chosen by the Seton Hall admissions office based on financial need and academic performance. Award renewability is contingent upon meeting satisfactory academic progress requirements. This award can be combined with other awards but can only apply to tuition charges at Seton Hall.
