Eligibility Requirements

Incoming freshman and incoming international freshmen who have outstanding academic records, demonstrated financial need, showcased an appreciation and interest in Latino culture/history, and are enrolled full-time for each semester of attendance at Seton Hall.

Application Procedures

The Joseph and Carmen Unanue Endowed Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students who express an appreciation for Latino culture and history. The scholarship range is $3,000 to $6,000 per year, and is divided evenly between the fall and spring semesters. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 unweighted high school GPA and submit a one-page essay detailing their appreciation and interest in Latino culture and history. To maintain eligibility, recipients must file the FAFSA for every year of undergraduate study, attend two Unanue Latino Institute events per year (volunteering in at least one event), attend a scholarship meeting with the Director of the Institute once per semester and complete at least one Latino Studies course by the spring semester of their senior year at Seton Hall.
