This fund has been established to honor the memory of Edward Walsh ’87. Candidates for this award should embody the characteristics of how Edward lived his life – as a caring and value-centered individual who modeled the ideals of Seton Hall’s mission of servant leadership; a person of deep faith; a self-starter; a life-long learner; and a person who selflessly gave of himself in friendship and service to those who entered his life.

Eligibility Requirements

Preference will be given to a student who has completed their high school education at Whippany Park High School, Whippany, New Jersey. The recipient must be in/maintain good academic standing and exemplify the moral and ethical values of Edward Walsh and Seton Hall University.

Application Procedures

Please complete this application by July 31. Applicants must also submit an essay as part of their submission.

** Essay: Please write a two-page double spaced essay demonstrating how you live life as a caring and value-centered individual who models Seton Hall’s mission of servant leadership. Please include details about how you are a person of deep faith, a self-starter, a life-long learner, and a person who selflessly gives of yourself in friendship and service to others. Your response will be reviewed by a committee external to Seton Hall University.

Students may reapply annually to obtain a renewal of funds.
