Hired in 2001, Dr. Shim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing and
Decision Sciences, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in Information
Technology Management. In his work as instructor, he has introduced several innovations
in his coursework and consistently received excellent teaching evaluations. Dr. Shim's
research interests center on information systems implementation, business process
reengineering, and technology management and strategy. His research, which includes
both contributions to practice and to the scholarship of teaching, has appeared in
INFOR: Information Systems and Operational Research, Information Systems Management,
Journal of Computer Information Systems, and Online Information Review, among others, and he has also presented his research at various meetings and conferences
sponsored by Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE), Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS),
and Production and Operations Management Society (POMS).
