Samuel Gardner III, M.A. is an accomplished broadcast journalism leader with more than 25 years of experience in newsrooms across the United States. He currently serves as Managing Editor and Assistant News Director at WFTV in Orlando, Florida, where he helps guide editorial strategy and daily news coverage in a competitive media market.
Throughout his distinguished career, Samuel has worked in several major media hubs, including Dallas–Fort Worth, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, bringing a depth of perspective shaped by diverse audiences and newsroom cultures. A defining highlight of his career came in 2008, when he was part of the team awarded a Peabody Award for CNN’s Presidential debates and campaign coverage, recognizing excellence in journalism and public service.
Samuel is a lifetime member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, and remains committed to leadership, mentorship, and community engagement.
