Throughout her years in the industry, Martha developed and implemented strategic campaigns to drive the growth of such brands as Caltrate®, Centrum®, Technics and Panasonic.
As the Corporate Communications Manager for Panasonic, she spearheaded strategic public relations campaigns and conducted media relations for the company's consumer and business-to-business products. Before joining Panasonic, Whiteley was a Public Relations Manager and spokesperson for Wyeth Laboratories, now Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, where she earned an Excellence in Communications Award from the International Association of Business Communicators for a documentary video on childhood vaccines. Earlier, she worked at the NYC-based Richard Weiner Public Relations agency, with responsibility for pharmaceutical accounts.
She is a professor of Public Relations and Communications at the undergraduate, graduate and professional development levels at Seton Hall, Rutgers and Montclair State University. Her goal as an educator is to provide students with the practical knowledge and skills to succeed in the profession and prepare graduates to be ethical communicators and advocates in a world that is more mobile, connected and diverse than ever before.
Martha is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America, NJ Chapter and a judge for the Pyramid Awards, recognizing excellence in PR campaigns.
