Karen Boroff, Ph.D.
Professor of Management and Dean Emeritus
Department of Management
Currently the professor in the Department of Management at the Stillman School of Business, Boroff was the dean of the School from 2000 to 2010. During that period, the School tremendously advanced the quality of its academic programs, earning many external affirmations of that excellence. From January 2017 through June 2020, Boroff served as Interim Provost and Executive Vice President of the University. In that position, among other accomplishments, she led the formation of the University-wide leadership development program for undergraduate students, championed budget transparency with responsibility-centered management, and instituted summer learning experiences, including boot camps in cybersecurity and entrepreneurial endeavors. She also began the University’s faith-based outreach with faith leaders throughout the state.
Boroff's teaching expertise is in management, human resources, labor relations and negotiations. She enjoys presenting and publishing her applied and pedagogical research on management, industrial relations and human resources. Besides teaching at the Stillman School of Business, Boroff has also been a visiting professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point, at the Management Center Innsbruck in Austria, and at Anhui Normal University in Wuhu, China.
