Mayra Colon
Assistant to the Dean
College of Human Development, Culture, and Media
Mayra I. Colón has been a full-time employee of Seton Hall for 30 years, 25 of which have been spent serving as the Assistant to the Dean at the College of Education and Human Services. Mayra began working for Seton Hall in 1993 as a Bilingual Secretary for the Talent Search Program in President’s Hall.
In 1995, Mayra joined the Office of the Bursar as a Cashier-Direct Loan Assistant where she handled student billing as well as assisted with Direct Loans and collections. No matter how difficult their financial situation, Mayra always treated each student with respect and compassion, often going beyond what was required to provide them with guidance on university and community financial resources.
Whether it is at Seton Hall or in other communities, Mayra Colón quietly models our Catholic mission by serving all, but in particular those who are in need, always with a smile.
