Department of Occupational Therapy

I have been a practicing occupational therapist since 2005. I believe I bring a unique perspective to the department by having clinical experience in a variety of areas such as school-based therapy, pediatric outpatient clinics, adult inpatient rehabilitation and community-based home care services. My clinical area of specialty is with adult neurologic populations. I have presented at several national conferences including American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), American College of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) and the National Spinal Cord Injury Conference on topics ranging from research that I completed on the effectiveness of stroke education to cultural competence for clinicians. As a clinician, I have been interested in how best to provide patient education to my clients. I would like to transfer that knowledge to provide the best education to our occupational therapy students.
