Welcome Back Message from Monsignor Reilly

“I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future full of hope.” ─ Jeremiah 29:11

Dear Community,

Welcome back to campus. Whether you traveled from across the country or around the corner, I hope your journey back to Seton Hall was safe and trouble-free.

With the start of the spring semester, we have an opportunity to advance the positive momentum we established last year and set new goals for the coming months. We will achieve these goals by remaining courageous and curious, exploring the world to find and embrace our greater purpose rooted deeply in God’s loving plan for each of us.

A semester at Seton Hall is an exercise in exploration. We explore academics and research questions. We also explore new places and worthwhile experiences. And we explore the deeper questions of our lives as individuals and members of a Catholic academic community.

The knowledge we gain from this exploration can be used to serve the greater good. And it can be used to know ourselves to a greater degree, to understand the beneficial ways God is calling each of us to live fuller, richer and more meaningful lives.

This semester, I hope all of us grow closer to God as we explore His world and our place in it. After all, as our creator, He knows us better than anyone. And as we explore, Seton Hall will provide a nourishing and steady terrain for us to travel, learn and grow.

I wish you all the best in the semester to come.

Yours truly in the Lord Jesus,

Monsignor Reilly
