Welcome Back Message from Monsignor Reilly

Dear Seton Hall Community,

I trust this past summer has brought many worthwhile adventures and beneficial experiences. For most of you, that meant jobs, internships, perhaps some classes, time with friends and family, travel and hopefully a measure of relaxation. We missed the vibrancy of students on our campuses and welcome you with joy and high expectations.

Our returning students bring with them an eye toward advancing their studies and continuing to build the life they have been called to lead. The new year brings new opportunities to grow intellectually and as whole and unique individuals — to double down on your positive experiences and overcome hurdles.

We recognize that our new students are in the midst of a transition — perhaps the first large transition many of you have experienced. A new location, new people and new responsibilities can seem daunting at first. Through it all, I hope you hold fast to the certainty that you belong here, and that you recognize — as I do — that ultimate success will come with time and effort.

For all our students, I pray that you grow in faith and wisdom as you respond to the life God has called you to live. It is my honor to serve this University. Just as I hope you will commit yourselves to making the most of your Seton Hall experience, I will do my utmost to make our community more faithful, robust, welcoming, dynamic and worthwhile for everyone.

Have a wonderful year! God’s blessings today and each day of the coming year.

Yours truly in the Lord,

Monsignor Reilly
