College of Nursing COVID-19 Response

Seton Hall University is closely monitoring the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. The health and safety of our students, faculty, employees and their families are of paramount importance. We understand the uncertainty of this time is difficult and would like to address some of your concerns.

Graduate Admissions Updates

As the circumstances concerning COVID-19 continue to evolve, the Graduate Department at Seton Hall University's College of Nursing is here for you. We understand the uncertainty of this time is difficult and the College of Nursing remains flexible moving forward into the Fall 2020 admissions process.

  • Seton Hall University's College of Nursing is hosting virtual events between now and the end of the semester. You can view all of the events and register for one by clicking here.
  • If you are unable to attend an event but have a question related to any of our graduate programs, please email the Director of Graduate Admissions, Gabby Zengewald ([email protected]).
  • All application materials can be submitted electronically either directly to Gabby ([email protected]) or through [email protected].
  • If you are having difficulty obtaining letters of recommendation from qualified nurses, please reach out to Gabby Zengewald ([email protected]) and she will work with you to come up with an alternate solution.
  • If you do not have the means or ability to order your official transcripts at this time, please feel free to submit unofficial transcripts as a placeholder until June 1, 2020.
  • Deadlines for the Nurse Practitioner tracks, the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, and the second-degree M.S.N. Clinical Nurse Leader program are currently June 1, 2020. However, these deadlines can be flexible if you submitted an application but need more time to submit all required materials.
  • All applicants to the Nurse Practitioner tracks will receive a fee waiver code. Please contact Gabby Zengewald for questions related to the fee waiver.

HyFlex Implementation Highlights

  • The faculty have experience teaching remote students from spring 2020 and are actively engaged in a series of steps to prepare and train for the HyFlex model.
  • To comply with social distancing and recommendations from professional organizations, music classes (both group and private lessons) will be offered completely remotely.
  • For art classes, the college will expand its use of cameras and software to ensure safe instruction.
  • TV Studio – the college has worked with facilities to create a social distancing plan for the TV studio.
  • Radio Station (WSOU) – The college has developed a very detailed, two-stage approach to "re-opening" the WSOU studio in a way that will comply with social distancing requirements.
  • Arts Council – The college oversees a number of arts programs for the University (choir, concert series, theatre, etc.) and is planning on adapting to comply with University, state and local requirements, as appropriate. For example, the college is planning for socially distanced theatre performances, with minimum characters on stage at a time, and social distancing in the audience.
