Dean's Message
Welcome to Seton Hall University College of Nursing!
The new millennium has brought significant changes in healthcare making this an extraordinary time for nursing. The demand for skilled, professional nurses has never been greater and nurses are poised to be leaders in the provision of quality nursing care which will positively impact patient care in a global society. We work hard in the College of Nursing to prepare our students to undertake the exciting challenges ahead and lead the profession to excellence.
Build a solid foundation through an established nursing education.
Established in 1937 as New Jersey’s first college of nursing, the College continues
to be known as a leader in nursing scholarship, teaching and practice, with one of
only three Ph.D. in nursing programs in the state.
Connect with distinguished fellow alumni.
With its long history of excellence in nursing education, the College of Nursing boasts
an extensive alumni network of nursing leaders across the state and beyond, giving
College of Nursing graduates a competitive edge in the workplace.
Choose from a wide array of program options and locations.
The College of Nursing offers program options designed to suit nurses’ busy schedules
– including on-campus, online and offsite programs – so that students don’t have to
choose between their work and personal responsibilities, and their education. The
College is also easy to get to, whether you’re in Hudson County (just 14 miles from
Manhattan), Bergen/Passaic Counties (short ride on the Parkway) or Ocean County (Parkway
or Georgian Court).
Earn your degree from a nationally ranked nursing program.
The College of Nursing’s graduate program is consistently ranked as one of U.S. News & World Report’s top graduate nursing programs.
Integrate your servant leadership values into your nursing practice.
A vital part of an established Catholic university, the College of Nursing encourages
its students to let their values shape and guide their careers as caring, compassionate
healthcare professionals. Students are taught to excel as servant leaders in making
a difference in their communities.
Connect with faculty not just as instructors, but also as mentors.
Faculty at the College of Nursing develop close mentoring relationships with each
individual student, further enriching their nursing education.
I continue to be excited by the opportunities available here and hope that you consider Seton Hall and all of the avenues we provide for our students. If you have questions, I encourage you to reach out directly to us; we look forward to hearing from you.
