Thursday, December 3, 2020
The most recent findings from the Seton Hall Sports Poll were featured by media outlets across the country and the globe, including ABC News, ESPN, MSN, Yahoo Finance (in the U.S. as well Australia, Singapore and other foreign locales), ESPN, Deadspin, Sports Business Daily, The Sport Digest, NJ 101.5, Prince George Now (British Columbia, Canada), The Baltimore Post, San Francisco Times, Hockey Addicted, The Harris Poll and a tweet from sports business analyst Darren Rovell to his 2 million followers. Rovell used a graphic in his Tweet that was created by Seton Hall student Valerie Lucas.
Findings from the poll included the effect coronavirus is having on the public's willingness to attend indoor and outdoor sporting events, the impact of social justice activism on sports viewing, the likelihood that the NFL will complete its season and Super Bowl successfully and whether or not a baseball player who knew he tested positive for coronavirus should bear most of the blame for celebrating with his teammates after a World Series victory.
Professor Charles Grantham, director of the Center for Sport Management within the Stillman School of Business,
which oversees the Seton Hall Sports Poll, did a video interview with USA Today that
cited the poll in his discussion on social justice issues in the NBA. Professor Grantham
is the former executive director of the National Basketball Players Association.
Stillman Professor of Marketing and Poll Methodologist Daniel Ladik appeared in an
interview with radio station NJ 101.5 to discuss the poll results regarding COVID-19
and how people felt about attending sporting events.
