About the Event

It's going to be 50 years since humanity first walked on the Moon on July 20, 1969. In celebratory anticipation of this monumental achievement, the Department of Physics will be hosting a special workshop for the Seton Hall Community and also the outside community on Saturday, May 4th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the McNulty Hall Atrium on our Main Campus in South Orange, NJ.

At the event groups of 4-6 participants will build a Lego NASA Saturn V moon rocket. Participants will learn rocket science and about the physics of landing on the Moon, as well as experience some excitement of human space exploration. This workshop event will be a fun experience for all participants and a great destressing event before the start of final exams.

Current student team participation is free. There is a $150 workshop fee for alumni and outside guest teams to help cover the rocket build kits and lunch and snack costs. Children as young as 8 years old with adult supervision will be able to build the rocket kits. After building their Saturn V rocket kits, each team will get to keep their built rocket. Sign up your team today for this exciting science workshop!
