The Italian Major offers a variety of courses in Italian Language, Literature, and Cinema. All courses are taught by native speakers and are designed to develop students' ability to be proficient in Italian and gain a deep understanding of Italy and its rich cultural past and present. During the summer, students have the opportunity to enhance their language skills in a four-week Study Abroad Program in Rome.
- The Italian Program is associated with the Charles and Joan Alberto Italian Studies Institute which promotes on campus a vast array of cultural activities (lectures, book presentations, films) related to Italian and Italian American history and culture.
- The Valente Italian Library holds more than 20,000 books (the second largest Italian book collection in NJ) and is a major research source for both students and scholars of Italian.
- Several scholarships are available to students of Italian, for more information contact the Alberto Italian Studies Institute Director, Dr. Gabriella Romani at email@example.com or (973) 275-2926.
