Agape Latte comes to Seton Hall
Wednesday, September 21, 2022
On Thursday, September 15, the Center for Catholic Studies and Campus Ministry launched Agape Latte, a national faith storytelling series. Developed in 2006 by Boston College Campus Ministry and Center for the Church in the 21st Century, this program now runs at over 50 campuses in the United States. We are delighted to add Seton Hall to the growing list of institutions and to provide a setting for our students and faculty, staff, and administrators to share personal stories of faith, learning, and transformation.
Agape Latte offers a relaxed coffeehouse environment where students can gather to hear a story about an experience of faith in the life of a Seton Hall faculty member, staff, or administrator. Each month Agape Latte students invite a guest to share their story and engage students in discussion as well as trivia, music, and giveaway prizes.
Dr. Christopher Kaiser shares his story of hope in hardship.
The student-led program allows diverse members of the campus community to come together to listen to one another and participate in a community of encounter and dialogue—and, yes, free coffee and desserts! Students plan the evenings, perform music, facilitate trivia, invite professors to be storytellers, and encourage their friends to attend.
Over 60 students gathered for the first Agape Latte, to hear from Dr. Christopher Kaiser, Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences. Dean Kaiser shared his personal story of finding hope in hardship. The evening began with student-led trivia and musical performances. The participants stayed long after the program ended to enjoy each other's company, conversation, and, of course, to finish off any food that was left over!
Over 60 students gathered for the first Agape Latte at Seton Hall.
Agape Latte takes place at 8 p.m. on the 3rd Thursday of each month in the McNulty Atrium (right across from Boland Hall!)
