Entrepreneurial Insights: Supply Chains and National Security
The Stillman School of Business and The Department of Military Science invite you to Entrepreneurial Insights: Supply Chains and National Security. This event will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bethany Hall.
Our Guest speaker Mr. Jermon Bafaty, founder and CEO of digital and IT professional services firm Platinum Technologies, will discuss securing the defense industrial base and the leadership lessons learned as an entrepreneur in supply chains and national security technologies. Mr. Bafaty is on the front lines of America’s Defense Industrial Base. He has worked in government at the Department of Energy on AI and with the Pentagon officials on procurement weapons design, cybersecurity and other mobilization issues. In his current role, Bafaty is strategizing to diversify America’s access and supply of rare earth metals, semiconductors and other advanced machine learning technologies to keep pace with China.
With increasing globalization, all aspects of a country’s economy are becoming intermingled with national security concerns. Our guest speaker brings a fresh perspective and insights in the hopes that a healthy discussion can be had between practical experience and a theoretical concepts. A nation’s supply chain is not something that is separate from national security concerns, in fact there are several instances in today’s world in which the two are one and the same. An example would be OPEC nations manipulating the price of oil barrel sales to gain concessions on the global stage.
Seton Hall students, faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to attend. All disciplines are welcome.
