Seton Hall Sports Poll on Pandemic Response Featured by Media Across the Globe
Wednesday, April 22, 2020
The results of the poll, which is sponsored by the Sharkey Institute within the Stillman School of Business, were covered by nearly every major media outlet across the United States and throughout the world, in some cases multiple times. The New York Times, for example, cited the results of the poll in four separate articles, once each in articles from the Associated Press and Reuters (which were likewise published by media outlets throughout the United States and abroad) and twice in articles from Times writers; USA Today published two articles that cited the sports poll from their own writers; and ESPN wrote about and broadcast the findings on multiple platforms across the globe.
On Twitter, results from the poll trended as the topic of conversation for writers from The Washington Post, NBC, ESPN, AP and more; a tweet from Darren Rovell alone to his more than 2 million followers resulted in more than 2,300 retweets and 66,000 engagements as social media responded en masse to the findings.
