Stillman School Hosts Distinguished Lecture Series in Business Analytics

In an era of data-driven business decisions, there is no question that business analytics is a hot topic. Data mining and analysis are high demand skills desired by employers and professionals across a variety of fields and industries. Recognizing this demand and the promising career outlook, the Stillman School of Business has been placing particular focus on the field of analytics.

"The Stillman School continues to expand analytics in the curriculum," said Professor David Rosenthal, chair of the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences. "Last year we launched a Master's in Business Analytics. In the recent past, we've also introduced new courses in analytics in our supply chain management and sports management specializations." New this year is an undergraduate major in financial technology, which will be an intersection of finance and business analytics.

Business Analytics Lecture Series 
In addition to a curriculum focus and a Business Analytics Advisory Board of industry leaders, the Stillman School is sponsoring a Distinguished Lecture Series in Business Analytics. The fall series will feature top executives who will address how to get started on the data journey, how to harness the power of machine learning, and how to succeed in the analytics and data science professions.

The virtual lectures are FREE and open the Seton Hall community and to the general public.

Each lecture takes place on a Wednesday, 6:30-7:30 p.m. ET

Moderator

Jay Liebowitz, D.Sc., visiting professor in the Stillman School's Department of Computing and Decision Sciences, will moderate the series. Liebowitz is recognized as one of the world's leading knowledge management researchers/ practitioners. He is also the series book editor of Data Analytics Applications, published by Taylor & Francis.

"We are very fortunate to have such a distinguished group of VP's of Analytics at some of the leading companies, including ADP, Fiserv, and the Campbell Soup Company. Through their experience and insights, the attendees will learn valuable lessons regarding industry trends, career paths, and applications in the business analytics and data science industries," said Liebowitz.
